ALLIED HEALTH CAREERS
 
Allied Health Careers can prepare you for rewarding job opportunities in medical assisting, dental assisting, as a personal trainer, and pharmacy technician. Allied Health Careers offers programs designed to train students who enjoy helping other people, are committed to a career in which their knowledge and services are increasing in demand, and desire to work in a professional and respected field.
 
From our campus in Austin, Texas, Allied Health Careers provides up-to-date career education and training for students that prepares them to enter the job market and develop rewarding careers.
 
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. The Allied Health Careers Career Development office assists our grads to find and apply for appropriate job opportunities.
 
AHC Learning Resource Centers located throughout the school provide reference manuals, materials, publications, and periodicals.  Our instructors take a personal interest in the potential success of each student. Classroom instruction is limited to a maximum of 30 students per instructor. Lab class size is limited to 20 students per instructor.
 
CAREER PROGRAMS AT AHC
 
MEDICAL ASSISTING
This program is designed to provide the academic knowledge and clinical skills required to competently assist doctors in their offices or other health care settings. The field is intended for the student who has the ability, desire, and pride to support the entry-level responsibilities delegated by the doctor.
 
DENTAL ASSISTING
This program is designed for the student who enjoys the challenge and responsibility of assisting dentists in their offices or other health care settings, and wants the necessary academic knowledge and clinical skills training. The field is intended for the individual who has the ability, desire, and pride to support the entry-level health care responsibilities delegated by the dentist.
 
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
The Pharmacy Technician program is designed to provide the student with the skills to perform necessary functions in the pharmacy. The pharmacy technician graduate will be qualified for entry-level employment in many retail pharmacies, hospitals, and mail-order pharmacies.
 
PERSONAL TRAINER
The purpose of the Professional Fitness Program is to provide the student with the knowledge, abilities, and hands-on skills necessary to qualify for a career as a Certified Personal Trainer. The personal fitness training curriculum includes an intensive week-long boot camp in Las Vegas, Nevada. Students have the opportunity to earn National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification.

FINANCIAL AID
 
Concerned about cost? Who isn’t! Allied Health Careers is dedicated to providing financial aid opportunities to those who are qualified. AHC is an eligible institution under the Federal PELL GRANT, FSEOG, (Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant), FEDERAL WORK-STUDY (FWS), and the PERKINS Loan programs. Eligibility for grant, scholarship, and loan programs is determined upon submission of a financial aid application.
 
The school is also eligible under the STAFFORD Loan (Federal Family Education Loan Program), which includes the PLUS Loan program. A full-time financial aid officer is available to provide assistance to our students.
 
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
 
At AHC, career development services are available to all students at no additional cost. We provide assistance with resume preparation, interviewing techniques, and employment opportunities. While we cannot guarantee a job to any individual graduate, many employers come to AHC in search of qualified job applicants. In addition, AHC actively solicits employers for graduate placement. An updated assessment of career opportunities is maintained in the Career Development office.
 
In addition to job placement assistance for grads, the Career Development office will also assist students who require part-time employment while attending school.
