Financial Aid: At American Career College, the Financial Aid Office can assist you in finding the funds to get the education you need, depending upon your qualification. You’ll have a variety of options for payment of your tuition, and we encourage students to apply for financial assistance if they are unable to meet educational costs on their own. We have access to several types of Title IV HEA assistance programs including grants and low-interest government loans, most of which are based on financial need.

 

Job Placement: American Career College's Career Services Department is staffed with full-time placement professionals, and offers students and graduates job placement assistance. Although any educational institution cannot guarantee the securing of positions, every effort is made to assist our students and graduates to obtain appropriate employment.

 

The Career Services Department can assist our students and graduates with networking and professional attire workshops, time management planning, career planning and advising, resume preparation, job leads, interviewing skills, and completing job applications.

Dental Assistant: Acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to apply for an entry-level position as a dental assistant. Graduates may also secure employment in other areas such as pediatric, orthodontic or oral surgery practices, front office/reception, insurance claims specialist, billing, insurance company customer service, dental software, public health facilities, hospital dental departments, correctional facilities, schools/universities, clinics, or dental supply.

 

Health Claims Examiner/Medical Biller: Learn the principles of health insurance and medical billing, industry terminology, communication, customer service, computer skills, and more.

 

Massage Therapist: You can become qualified to work in different settings that include private practice, medical clinics, chiropractic offices, acupuncture clinics, day spas, fitness centers, and physical therapists' offices. Massage therapists also provide service to sports teams and sports-related medical facilities.

 

Medical Assistant: These key medical professionals support doctors and nurses in clinical or administrative roles, taking vital statistics, coordinating lab tests, performing office duties, and more. Our program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to begin your career in a medical office, clinic, HMO or other health care setting.

 

Optical Dispensing: Our program can prepare you for the National Opticianry Exam and Contact Lens Registry Exam, which are administered by the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO/NCLE). With these credentials, you'll be eligible for an entry-level position, career advancement, and the ability to go into business for yourself some day.

 

Pharmacy Technician: We can provide you with the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary for an entry-level technician position in a hospital, retail, or home health pharmacy. You'll learn dosage calculations, product recognition, and drug distribution systems, as well as the trade and generic names of selected drugs and their classification. The program covers pharmaceutical and medical terminology including abbreviations and symbols used in prescribing, dispensing and charting. We’ll introduce you to basic anatomy and related pathological conditions.

 

Surgical Technologist: Hospitals, doctors’ offices, outpatient surgery centers, and registries currently seek trained professionals. Surgical technology is a great first step if you aspire to continue your training to become a registered nurse or physician assistant. As the population increases, the need for surgical procedures will rise along with the demand for surgical technologists.

 

Vocational Nursing: Our program prepares you for a rewarding career so that you can help people every day. Vocational nursing is a career that offers opportunities for qualified nurses in hospitals, doctors' offices, clinics, schools, colleges, home health agencies and convalescent homes. Associate of Occupational Science in Respiratory Therapy: ACC’s Associate of Occupational Science in Respiratory Therapy program provides you with the theoretical and clinical skills you need to successfully perform the duties of a Respiratory Therapist. Furthermore, earning your Associate’s Degree will give you the competitive edge you need as you begin your career as an entry-level professional in this field.

 

Accreditation

American Career College is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and the Accreditation Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

 

The Respiratory Therapy program is currently in the process of seeking accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP, at www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
