Founded in 2000, Santa Barbara Graduate Institute (SBGI) offers master’s and doctoral degree programs that center on the premise that our minds and our bodies are inextricably linked. We therefore consider the whole person (body, mind, and spirit) as we strive to effect deep and lasting change in people’s lives.

At our welcoming campus in Santa Barbara, California, our holistic perspective encourages practitioners to integrate the best of alternative approaches to health and healing with the best of traditional treatment methodologies and established clinical practice. We prepare students to become outstanding mental health professionals with a specific focus in the areas of somatic psychology or prenatal and perinatal psychology.

For the convenience of our students, Santa Barbara Graduate Institute offers degree program formats including the Hybrid (PSP) format, which combines online learning with on-campus courses.
