Accreditation
South College is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to confer Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Associate of Science degrees, as well as various certificate level programs. South College is approved for the training of veterans and other eligible beneficiaries by the Tennessee Division of Veterans Education.
South College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate and associate degrees. Various programs have also earned programmatic accreditation or approval. Please contact us for more information.
Financial Assistance
We encourage all South College students to participate in the financial assistance programs for which they may be eligible. Grant programs may include Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA), Federal Pell Grant, Academic Competitive Grant Program (AC Grant), National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant Program (SMART Grant), and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). Other programs may include the Federal Work-Study Program, Federal Perkins Loans, Federal Stafford Loan Program and Federal Direct Loan, Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) and Federal Direct PLUS Loan Program, Non-Federal Loan Programs, Veteran’s Educational Benefits, Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA), and the South College Loan Program.
Career Services
Our commitment to our students and graduates includes providing a full range of career services. While we cannot guarantee job placement, the success of our graduates is very important to the mission of South College.
At South College, we take a proactive approach to career guidance. As each South College student nears graduation, we provide specific and personalized instruction in the preparation of cover letters and resumes, job search strategies, and interviewing skills. Graduating students are required to complete a job placement application, take part in a rehearsal interview, and place a resume and letters of recommendation on file with the Placement Coordinator.
